There will never be a substitute for excellent teaching from an excellent teacher. There are some in education who fear that today's push for technology is an attempt to substitute a program for a teacher. What a mistake that would be! We at Solutions, etc. believe that when the best way to teach something is sans technology then that is the way it should be taught. However, if technology can enhance the lesson, aid the teacher, or better enable the student to learn then technology should be used. For those that fear technology, remember, there was a day when the chalkboard was cutting edge, too! Change is always occuring. Sometimes the fear of change is worse than the change itself. This is especially true when the change improves the quality of our instruction. Solutions, etc.'s team of experienced educators wants to help you and your school find practical ways to allow technology to improve what you are already doing. Since our workshops and inservices are led by K-12 teachers, you will not be hearing about potential uses. Instead we will share actual applications that we have found to be successful in our classrooms. We offer workshops on a wide variety of technological topics, including: Instructional Uses of Technology Our presenters are experienced with and knowledgeable of a vast array of programs and types of software, including: Microsoft Office Software When used appropriately, today's new technologies can make the classroom a fun and exciting place, but more importantly, they can make it a place where learning occurs. |
